Process plan

Also called routing, manufacturing process plan

A process plan is the ordered set of operations that turns parts into a finished assembly: what happens at each station, with which tools, resources and parts. In ERP it becomes the routing.

In Windchill MPMLink a process plan links each operation to the parts it consumes from the mBOM and to the resources it needs. That link is what lets an engineering change flag the operations it affects.

The routing in ERP is the scheduling and costing view of the same plan. Keeping the two in step is an integration decision, so it belongs in the design early.
