Windchill upgrade

Also called Windchill migration

A Windchill upgrade moves a production Windchill system to a newer release: database schema changes, vault and file moves, customization rework and testing, with rehearsals so the cutover weekend holds no surprises.

Upgrades aren’t a button. Some paths need more than one hop (12 to 13.1 runs the upgrade manager twice), and every customization has to be checked against the new release.

Rehearsals are where the risk comes out: wipe a test system, copy production, run the upgrade end to end, fix what broke, repeat. An upgrade also tends to surface years of configuration drift nobody remembered.
