Position Summary
Element Consulting is seeking an experienced Windchill Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions using the PTC Windchill platform. The ideal candidate is both a strategic advisor and hands-on architect who can translate complex business requirements into scalable, sustainable solutions that connect engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain operations.
This role will work directly with executive sponsors, business stakeholders, engineering teams, and technical resources to define PLM roadmaps, architect digital thread solutions, lead implementation programs, and ensure successful user adoption.
Solution Architecture & Strategy
Lead architecture and design of PTC Windchill solutions, including PDM, MPM, ProjectLink, Parts and BOM Management, Change and Configuration Management, and Supplier Collaboration.
Develop enterprise PLM roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Define scalable data models, lifecycle strategies, workflows, and governance structures.
Conduct current-state and future-state process assessments.
Client Leadership
Serve as the trusted advisor to client leadership teams.
Facilitate requirements workshops and solution design sessions.
Present recommendations to business and executive stakeholders.
Lead solution demonstrations, architecture reviews, and implementation planning activities.
Digital Thread & Systems Integration
Design integrations between Windchill and enterprise platforms such as ERP (SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics), MES, QMS, and CAD systems (Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX).
Support digital thread initiatives spanning engineering, manufacturing, service, and quality.
Collaborate with technical teams on APIs, middleware, and data synchronization strategies.
Implementation Leadership
Guide implementation teams through all project phases.
Review technical designs and configuration approaches.
Provide architectural oversight for upgrades, migrations, and transformations.
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Organizational Change & Adoption
Partner with business stakeholders to drive user adoption and business value realization.
Support process standardization and governance initiatives.
Mentor client teams and provide best-practice guidance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or related field.
8+ years of experience with PTC Windchill implementations.
5+ years in a solution architecture or technical leadership role.
Experience leading enterprise-scale Windchill deployments.
Strong knowledge of software development and integration methodologies.
Excellent consulting, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Windchill 12.x and 13.x environments.
Knowledge of PTC Navigate, ThingWorx, Codebeamer, or Creo.
Experience in Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Equipment, Automotive, or Manufacturing industries.
Understanding of AS9100, ITAR, FDA, and ISO quality frameworks.
PTC certifications are highly desirable.
Experience with cloud and hybrid deployment architectures.
